A Light for Every Home
We had paused to think, how could we truly fulfill this initiative?
How could Diwali reach every home when so many still lived without one?
With this thought, the students of The Indian Heights School - decided to bring this vision to life. Our idea was simple yet heartfelt: to celebrate Diwali with those who often go unseen-the people who live by the roadside, under flyovers, or in temporary shelters.
For many of them, even buying a small sweet or lighting a single diya was a luxury.
So, this Diwali, we decided to light their homes and hearts.
With immense love and gratitude, our students came together to pack over 500 Diwali hampers, each filled with essentials — sweets, diyas, candles, and more; small tokens of joy that could help them celebrate the festival of lights.
On Choti Diwali, we stepped out onto the streets and distributed these hampers to roadside dwellers and nomadic families, spreading light, love, and smiles wherever we went.
Because Diwali was not just about lighting our homes,
it was about lighting lives.
This small effort may not have changed the whole world,
but it surely made someone’s world brighter.
Through this humble initiative, we aimed to make “Har Ghar Diwali” not just a slogan, but a heartfelt reality.
