Adventure Sports Camp @ TIHS

Adventure sports have an eminent role to mould one\'s personality as it inculcates core skills and for young learners it forms a very important aspect of formative years. Stepping out of their comfort zone, children rediscover their true mental and physical potential. With the learning objective to inculcate physical fitness, team-building, bonding and enhanced self-esteem, the students from classes Step -1 to Class IX participated in Adventure Sport Camp on 25 February,2023, organized by Rocksport.The adventure camp organized within the school premises aptly proved the old age proverb  Until you step into the unknown, you don\'t know what you are made of ’. The lawns of the school resonated with cheers of students that spelled excitement and highest form of thrill as they engaged in sports which were age appropriate. The day commenced with a welcome drink followed by a short briefing session about the precautions to be taken and rules to be followed during the camp. The students were divided into small groups along with their assigned instructors and teachers. The students had their anxieties peaking high as they moved from one sport to another and experienced unfettered fun in Hop Skotch, Magical Maze, Mine Field, Zorbing, Commando Net, Commando Crawl, Horizontal Crawl, Earth Ball, Hamster Wheel, Laser Beam, Burma Bridge, Wall Climbing and Tug of War to name a few. The day was high on adventure through the exuberant presence of school Principal Ms Archana Narain that further inspired the students to participate more often in such activities. With excitement among the students and the teachers palpable, it was indeed a power packed day of thrills and skills where everyone roped in to experience an electrifying and heart throbbing fun. The rewarding learning experience yielding rich learning outcomes like positive attitude, clearer thinking, improved decision making skills and enhanced observation was a day to remember and cherish by everyone present.



Delhi in upcoming Khelo India Competition

The Indian Heightians embark on New Year 2023, with a jubilant and zealous gusto. Riddhi Sachdeva of Class X-B, is selected in Artistic Gymnastics to represent Delhi in upcoming Khelo India Competition. A proud moment for all as the young sports person displayed an amazing test of nerves and skills to qualify for the competition.



Little Step celebrates Rumble in the Field@TIHS

The Indian Heights School envisions its multitudinous growth with parents as its core team. We always strive to offer opportunities that bring the school and parent fraternity closer and yield amplified development. Never leaving an opportunity of sharing our joys and fun times with the treasured parents- the FUN MORNING organised in the school premises on January 21, 2023, by the Pre-Primary Wing was just another addition to the realm. A fun-filled day was planned for the students and parent fraternity of the Little Steps Wing. The School Chairperson Ms Madhu Gupta and the School Principal Ms Archana Narain graced the occasion with their vibrant presence. In her welcome address, the School Principal, Ms Archana Narain emphasised on creating groomed and well-grounded individuals thereby making core memories. The School Headmistress Ms Meghna Dungrakoti in her notable key address emphasised that sports improve one\\\'s competence, bring into life-top level brilliance and give strength to brave ordeals and uncertainties in life as they impart important life lessons and refine core life skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, decision making collaboration and above all teamwork.The zestful races and games were rejoiced by everyone alike and the winners were felicitated by the school chairperson and the school principal. The overwhelmed parents\' participation was cheered and applauded by one and all. It was indeed a day to jump off, stumble and rumble in the field with steering enthusiasm.



NTERCLUB Taekwondo Championship

Diet & Fit- The fitness Studio affiliated to Delhi Olympic Association and Central District Taekwondo Association  organized 2nd INTERCLUB Taekwondo Championship 2022. Dhariya of class VII won the Bronz Medal under cadet 56-Kg category  and Aadik of class II  won the Gold Medal under Sub-Junior cadet 24 KG category.  Heartiest Congratulations to  both the Winners.



Hyundai National Inter-School Trophy

Heartiest Congratulations to Nischay of class VII for winning the prestigious 2nd position in  Hyundai National Inter-School Trophy supported by  Olympian Aditi Ashok and The Indian Golf Union.



TIHS participates in 'Marathon Run'

Commemorating the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Students from The Indian Heights School exhibited an overwhelmed enthusiasm and spirited fervour as they participated in the Marathon Run held at Govt. Co.Ed. Sr. Sec., Pochanpur. The students displaying the banner of \'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas\' cherished the message of the iconic leader that is to serve the country as one united force.



Inter-School Promotional Badminton Tournament

Exuding confidence, the young budding sports star capped their consistency and carried forward the momentum as stamped their victory in Inter-School Promotional Badminton Tournament organised by Double Ace Sports Complex, Hari Nagar.
High in the limelight, students clinched the medals to seal success with One Silver, Three Bronze and the School Trophy.

Tribute to the Hockey Wizard @ TIHS

These were the words of a true patriot at heart, a passionate sportsman and the Wizard of Hockey: Major Dhyan Chand. His achievements are well known by all and his birthday is celebrated as the National Sports Day in India. At the Primary Wing of TIHS, the same was observed with much zeal and fervour. A myriad of activities in the ground and the subjective enrichment in the classroom through presentation and discussion were the efforts undertaken by the facilitators to pay homage to the Magician on Hockey Field. The students enthusiastically participated in the activities and were elated to celebrate the day.The School Headmistress, Ms Meghana Dungrakoti encouraged the young achievers to play a game or sport as it teaches us many virtues of life. As ma’am joined the bandwagon of the young sports team, she reminded the students to intend to bring wisdom, hope, courage and enthusiasm amongst themselves and other fellow friends to tread the divine journey of life. The School Management and the Principal also conveyed their wishes on this blissful day.



Fit India Movement-‘Fitness Week Celebration’

Take care of your body, it is the only place you have to live’

The school is geared up to follow CBSEinitiative Fit India Movement-‘Fitness Week Celebration’.A variety of Fitness Exercises were conducted for the students. Our tiny tots of Little Stepsand class II indulged in HurdleRace and Jogging. Classes VII & VIII sweat outwhile doing Zumba. Senior students practiced   fitness components to enhance strength, speed and endurance.

 



FIT India Week

A healthy lifestyle is the  need of the hour. Keeping oneself healthy is the prime responsibility  of an individual.  As a part of the ‘Fit India Week’ an interactive and fun-filled workshop was held in the school auditorium by Ms. Yashika Bajaj, an eminent radio jockey of 92.7 F.M. She shared various tips to a good and balanced living. The students participated in the Q/A round, singing and other playful sessions with her. Our other guests included Ms. Aradhika Singh and Mr. Apurva Sharma, the Media Manager and Head Chef at Cornitos respectively. The chef sharedthe recipes for healthy and scrumptious snacks by using Cornitos.  The children were also given a packet of Cornitos as takeaways.



FIT India Week

For any society or nation to progress, it is important that their citizens are physically fit. As a part of FitIndia  Week Celebrations a Marathon Run was conducted on December 20, 2019. The school Principal, Ms. Archana Narain along with theteachers and students were part of the marathon run. In her address the Principal shared the importance of remaining fit and healthy on a daily basis. She encouraged the students to make exercise an integral part of their daily regime.



Inter House- Langri Taang

Dynamic balance training is an effective way to strengthen and tone the obliques and the muscles of the hips, thighs, glutes and low back. Increasing the strength of the core muscles can help improve your balance and coordination and ability to react to sudden changes of direction. Controlling dynamic balance should be a reflexive response that happens automatically.

Inter-House Rugby Competition

Rugby is a fantastic sport for children, that brings many physical and social benefits, including enhanced confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline; and enjoyable physical exercise as a part of team. It is also a great way for students to improve essential physical skills such as hand-eye coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance.

TIHS Conducts Fit India Mission Run

The students of class IX to XII of the School participated in FIT INDIA Plogging Run on 1st October, 2019to spread the message of Stay Fit and Keep Environment Litter Free. The run as an awareness drive was conducted to promote the habit of fitness and cleanliness in all citizens. The school principal Ms Archana Narain, flagged and declared the race open.She lauded the efforts of the school students who brought glory to the school  in all track and field events and encouraged students to participate more often in sports activities as they not only build stamina but also instil confidence in the participants. The students jogged for two kilometres along with the teachers. During the jog, they collected single used plastic waste from around and households along the dedicated path of the track or run.The run was meaningful and fruitful as it sensitized the students and even the locales in the vicinity to stay fit and keep environment clean for a longer healthy and enduring life.



TIHS hosts Sankalp Sahodaya Lawn Tennis Tournament

‘Practice like you have never won, Perform like you have never lost.’

Displaying the true and ardent spirit of sportsmanship, The Indian Heights School hosted the mega sporting event Mini Lawn Tennis under the aegis of SankalpSahodaya for Under-12 category. The two day event on August 22,2019 and August 23, 2019 witnessed the game in two categories for Boys and Girls respectively. The sporting event garnered the whole hearted participation of the students from Delhi and NCR. The school coordinator declared the event open and wished good luck to all the teams. She further reiterated that participation is more important than winning or losing  a game. It was indeed overwhelming to see the young players display the five S’s of the word Sport that is speed, stamina, skill, strength and spirit. Indeed an energizing experience for one and all.The participating teams exhibited a rich amalgamation of  excellent coordination and team work as they struggled to bag the coveted positions. On the basis of their score and performance, following teams were adjudged as winners.
